distributed cheques totalling $3.5M on Friday to
football clubs in Linden during a visit to the Linden Town

A Government Information Agency (GINA) release stated
that the distribution of the cheques was done during a
match at the Mckenzie Sports Club ground.
Each club received $500,000 as part of the Head of
State's commitment to the development of the sport in
Guyana and the initiative to distribute $20M to clubs
around the country.
Topp XX, Net Rockers, Eagle's United, Silver Shattas,
Winners Connection, Ball Weavers and Amelia's Ward
football clubs were among those that received cheques in
Linden.
According to the release, the President will be handing
out cheques to clubs from the East Bank, East Coast and
West Bank of Demerara tomorrow at the Georgetown Football
Club (GFC).
Each club will receive $500,000 during the President's
Cup tournament.
