A man who allegedly fondled a female police officer's breast was yesterday remanded to prison for just over a month by Magistrate Gordon Gilhuys.
A man offered $10,000 to fondle a female police officer's breast Nigel Roberts pleaded not guilty to abusive language and indecent assault when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate's Court. It is alleged that on July 9 at Georgetown he made use of abusive language to another person and on the same date indecently assaulted a female police corporal. Police prosecutor Desiree Fowler objected to bail for Roberts on the indecent assault charge saying that he pushed his hand through a vehicle window and felt the corporal's breast and told her that he would pay $10,000 for her. Attorney-at-law Adrian Thompson who represented the accused told the court that his client was charged with abusive language and that the police had gone to arrest him. He requested bail saying that his client was placed on $5,000 station bail. The magistrate placed Roberts on $25,000 bail on the abusive language charge and refused bail on the indecent assault matter. He will return to court on August 23. |
