BOGUS PROBATION OFFICER REMANDED
Ex-Policeman posed as probation officer for carnal knowledge
- Prosecutor
EX-POLICEMAN Randolph Perreira, 36, of Lot 310 Grove Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara, was yesterday remanded to prison on a carnal knowledge charge.

REMANDED: Randolph Perreira
The accused appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle, charged indictably with committing the March 9 offence on a girl under the age of 15 years.

Police Inspector Denise Griffith, prosecuting, who successfully objected to bail for him, said he should have known better.

The Prosecutor said Perreira went to the teen’s home and pretended he was a probation officer.

The case was transferred to Providence Court, also on East Bank Demerara, for March 20.

Perreira allegedly posed as a Probation Officer from the Ministry of Human Services to lure the 13-year-old girl to a house and rape her.
